Villa Miranda Halki

Villa Miranda is a rare kind of Chalki stay: a fully renovated, single level home with a genuinely large yard and garden, set right in the centre of the island behind the school in the Plakera area. On a small Dodecanese island where outdoor space is usually limited to balconies and terraces, its private courtyard feels like a real luxury, especially for families and groups who want room to spread out.

The villa carries a lovely sense of continuity. Built in the early 1900s and passed down through generations, it began as a family home, later became the summer meeting point for children and grandchildren, and was carefully restored in 2014 to be fully functional while keeping the spirit of a house that has witnessed decades of island summers. That history gives it a warmth that is hard to imitate.

Inside, everything is arranged for comfort and easy living. There are two bedrooms, a spacious living room, one modern bathroom with a shower, and a contemporary kitchen that is unusually well equipped for an island rental. You have a full oven, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, and even two espresso machines, so mornings can be as relaxed as you want them to be. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, with a sea inspired blue theme in the main room and a Chalki green theme in the second, where the twin beds can be configured together if needed.

Outdoor living is the highlight. A large wooden pergola provides shade throughout the day, creating a natural dining and lounging area. There is a big table with comfortable seating for six, sun loungers, a sitting area, and a little wheeled mini bar that turns the garden into an easy spot for evening drinks. It is a place that suits a full family, two couples, or a larger group of friends who want privacy without feeling cut off.

Accessibility is another strong point. The villa is designed to be friendly for guests with mobility needs, with a ramp that makes both the main entrance and the outdoor area easy to navigate. It is also reachable by car, which can be a real advantage for older travellers, families with small children, or anyone who wants to avoid carrying bags up island lanes.

Location keeps everything simple. You are about five minutes on foot from the harbour and Pondamos beach, and other island favourites such as Ftenagia, Kania, and Giali are also within walking reach for those who like exploring at a slower pace.

For travellers who want Chalki with space, comfort, and a garden that feels like your own private corner of the island, Villa Miranda is a standout.
