1900 Hotel Symi

Set right on Symi’s storybook waterfront, 1900 Hotel is a restored 19th century neoclassical mansion where the harbour becomes your daily backdrop. The building, known locally as the historic Mastoridis Mansion, feels more like a private home than a hotel, with only four suites arranged across two floors. Step through the deep green entrance and you are met by soaring painted ceilings, vivid colour, and carefully preserved vintage touches that never slip into museum mode. Everything is calm, considered, and quietly luxurious.

Outside, a small courtyard scented with wild fig and greenery offers shade and a gentle pause from the heat, while the roof terrace delivers the kind of view that makes you forget your phone exists. There is an all day self serve Treat Bar stocked with local bites and fresh fruit, plus an easygoing Honesty Bar for sunset drinks, perfect for lingering as the port lights up.

Owner and architect Dimitris Zographos hosts with genuine Greek philoxenia and the confidence of someone who knows Symi intimately. Ask for his favourite coves, boat days, and dinner spots, then explore the island like you belong here.
